To Government's notice.
A diesel car is a big car and costing more than a petrol car, whatever be the variant. People buy Scorpio, Toyota, Skoda, Nissan etc for 7 to 8 lakhs which double the price of a Maruti Alto or Cheverolet spark. So in cars also we have rich man's cars and poor man's cars.
In this context I would like to highlight one point.
Almost all the households are using the cooking gas. The price of it is steadily increased. Now there are some restrictions like only 4 cylinders or so in a month is likely to be introduced.
Whereas these luxury diesel cars run on subsidised diesel. Who is favoured by this system? Not the poor but the rich. Why not Government consider lifting the subsidy in diesel cars. Petrol is Rs. 70 whereas diesel is Rs.40 or so. Why is this vast difference?
I am raising this point. I hope that this may catch the eyes of somebody in power.
