Sethuraman Memorial Charitable Trust (SMCT) was formed in Memory of Late Thiru V.Sethuraman. He hailed from Chidambaram, South Arcot District, Tamil Nadu. He was a product of the great AC College of Technology, Chennai. ( Alagappa Chettiar College of Technology ) He completed his B. Tech in the year 1975 and did his MBA from the famous Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta in 1977. He was a well known Management consultant in the field of Handloom & Textile. He was very popular among his friends and relatives in his days and his contribution to their lives was immense.

SMCT was registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1881, in the Office of the Sub Registrar, Ashok Nagar, Chennai - 600083, Tamil Nadu, India. The registration number with Income Tax Department 269/2001-02.

The Trust desires to carry out various charitable activities in health care, education, awareness programmes, training programmes for the needy people for self employment and so on, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
